What is Rolfing

Rolfing is a powerful system of deep-tissue bodywork. It releases deep physical tensions and rejuvenates the body back into to its healthy, natural shape.

Rolfing goes much deeper than traditional massage. It is a whole systems approach to re-integrating your entire body by manipulating the fascia - the tissues that connects muscle to your joints. The fascia holds our shape and affects the relative positions of each of our life supporting systems, including bones, organs, nerves, blood vessels, etc Carefully moving this fascial tissue can have a profound, healing effect on your physical and emotional sense of well-being

What are the benefits of Rolfing

Some of the benefits of Rolfing include:
•       Increased ease and energy in the body
•       Relief from chronic pain and tension
•       Rehabilitation for injury, accidents, and surgery
•       Greater flexibility, range of motion and coordination
•       Improved posture and performance

How is a Rolfing series structured

Traditionally, Rolfing consists of a series of 10 sessions of about 80/90 minutes, spaced one to two weeks apart. Each session focuses on restructuring and balancing different parts and layers of the body. The sessions follow a logical order, with each session building on the last and preparing for the next.

If you are curious about the work but aren’t sure if you want to commit to a whole series, it is recommended that you try the first three sessions. This will give you a sense of the cumulative effects of the work. At this point, you can determine whether you want to continue into the deeper sessions.
